ATHLETES OF AXIS


WELCOME TO THE TEAM

Athletes of Axis possess mental strength, self-discipline, competitive drive and integrity. Team Axis is defined as those skaters competing in the current season's qualifying structure. Members are expected to partake in comprehensive activities to develop their overall performance and development. They should take advantage of the following Axis offerings: 

  • detailed training plans and additional access to the coaching staff

  • supplementary off-ice and on-ice classes, including floor jumps, ballet, movement, stretch, total body conditioning, video analysis, IJS lecture, and more

  • traveling abroad opportunities to world-class and Olympic training sites

  • access to qualified high performance specialists, athletic trainers, physical therapists, dietitians, and other professionals

  • team outings and fine arts excursions

Team A includes skaters who have qualified for one of the USFS development pools: Athlete High Performance Development Pool (AHPDP), International Selection Pool (ISP), or Team USA in the current and/or previous season.

Team B includes skaters who have qualified for the US Championships or the USFS National Development Team (NDT) in the current and/or previous season. 

Team C includes skaters who have qualified for their respective Sectional Championships or earned a bye through the National Qualifying Series (NQS) in the current and/or previous season. 

Team D includes skaters who have competed in the US Figure Skating qualifying structure in the current and/or previous season.
